For giggles (and Gretchen)

This is when I grew my beard out earlier this year. I was going to let it grow again this Christmas season so that I could prove to Garlic Boy that I am more of a man than he is. I decided to forego the beard for the sake of my poor mother, who wouldn't have allowed me to be in any family pictures if I did grow a beard. Gretchen says she thinks men rarely look good with beards. I dunno? Do you think she will change her mind after she sees these lumberjack pictures, my dear family?

My Mama

Nirvana

3. a place or state characterized by freedom from or oblivion to pain, worry, and the external world.

I'm pretty sure that I am the only Warner who has ever reached this state. Just thought I might let you know. I hope to get a new camera soon (hint, hint Leah and Sir Dylan) so that I can document a day in the life.
My semester ends this week. I am pretty dang excited. We don't start our next semester until January 22nd. What's up with that? It's pretty much the coolest winter break ever. I am getting to the point where I kind of need to decide what the heck I am going to major in. I have been taking a lot of classes just to see if I like that sort of thing and so I am afraid that I have a lot of electives stored up that aren't going to do me a lick of good! Oh well, I'll just have to go to school for three more years. No big deal, right? Old Toasty is up for suggestions on what to do with his life. I know everyone is probably going to say, "Major in Glam Rock Hottology", or, "Why don't you become a male model and help people by showing them what to wear and how to do their hair in interesting ways?". Take this into account, I want to show everyone that I can earn a living with my brain, and not just rely on my perfectly sculpted body for a career. I think Miranda's comment is getting to my head.

This is Dale

Dale is my brother. This is when I graduated high school, probably the biggest deal ever. I just like this picture because we both look really happy... and I have a lot more hair than I do now.

Meetings

I was in a meeting tonight for two hours. This is enough to make a body weary. I like my church meetings short and sweet. If you want to talk about other things, call me sometime, but in a meeting, get to the point. Now the real reason I am writing is because I walk into the room, and it smelled like FEET! There were only three people in the room, but it was still difficult to point out the pungent perpetrator. Anyway, It was a bad two hour meeting, because I was pretty much just looking at peoples feet the whole time, wondering why I was still in that little room. I'm sure you are all thrilled to know.

Best buds

Just in case anyone was wondering, this is my best buddy, Glen. If I wasn't poor, I would go see him at his sisters' wedding this next weekend. He is probably the biggest butt-head I have ever known.

Date night

I went on a double date on Thursday. It was interesting. We started off with a fear factor type of dinner. We had 10 weird ingredients that were numbered, who would guess, 1-10. We picked 4 phase 10 cards to determine the ingredients of each sandwich. Mine was a ketchup, mustard, hot sauce and cheese sandwich, with extra ketchup. My dates sandwich was a grape jelly, hotsauce, ketchup and mayo sandwich. I was the only one that finished my sandwich. After that we did something semi normal and went bowling. All in all, a fun night.

New pants

I don't want to brag or anything, but I look really good. All my pants wear out really fast, because I am a real man with a real job. I've decided that I am going to strike against cheap pants. Sure, I can go to Old Navy and buy a pair of pants for 15 bones, but they only last me a couple of months. Maybe it is all the praying that I am doing that causes my pants to wear out in the knees. Or maybe it is kneeling down in the dirt while wiring up and outlet. It's one of those things we'll never know.

"What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know."

Work

In case any of you have been wondering, I am a real man with a real man's job. I am an electrician. I will have to put up some pictures later. The hilight of being an electrician is goofing off all day with Dale. I must say that we have the most fun and make the most money when we work together. This is partly because the middle aged ladies that drive by think that we are the village people and give us big tips. Today, Dale cut open his knuckle. He will probably read this, and I probably won't care that he reads this. He is accident prone at work. I cringe anytime he gets to use a razor, screwdriver, or any other tool for that matter. That's pretty much all I have to write. See, family? The reason I don't post more often is because of things like this. I just read this! It's lame!

P.S. David Hodo is my hero. The scan cut off the note he wrote to me. It reads, "Elden, I am tired of always wearing my wife's pants. I am just getting too old for this. The trade needs another sexy man who can wear chains and a hard hat for no apparent reason. That man is you! Much love, see you on Friday at the YMCA."

Our day at six flags

I must have said something terribly funny(something with a dipthong, by the look of my mouth.)......
...because Dale and I are laughing hysterically. (Mom obviously didn't get it.)

I think Dad pinched Dale in the bum.

What the? Glam Rock Hott?

Dale, Dad and I are showing off our dorky cell phone holders while Carrie is looking more and more like mom. I think Mikey, once again, is checking out the ladies.

School....and an attack on my relative.

I remember one time when we were at a family reunion and Leah starting spraying bug spray in her cousins face. I believe it was this same reunion that she invented a very nasty little definition for the word "plonk". Does anybody rememeber when Leah asked if it was weird to eat your toenails and when everyone said, "Yes." that she got all quiet and said she had some business to take care of in private and then sulked away, clippers in hand? Yes, my friends, I remember all of them. When you want to play hardball again, Leah, leaving comments like that, remember who you are dealing with, and that they can probably get pictures from your mom of you bathing with your brothers...... completely neked!!!!
Alright. School stinks. Espicially when you try to check your homework online, and the stupid school website says that you aren't registered for any classes. I guess the plus side is that you get to get a lot of more productive things done besides your homework. Like making sure your stupid cousin never makes fun of you again.

A new look for toasty?

I doubt anyone will see this. I think people have given up on me. Thanks, beloved family, for believing in me. Well, that topic of this blog is to see if such a long abscence merits a new design. Sort of like a rebirth, if you will. It is too hot here. I don't think that Dave will appreciate me sweating all over his notebook. Peace.
